Gigi's advisory went to the Children's Theatre Company show, "Spamtown, USA." We were transported back in time to the 80's in Austin, MN. It is a great show based on a union strike from the perspective of the youth. Find out more: http://childrenstheatre.org/whats-on/spamtown

Creator spotlight! Benjamin has been painting minis for about two years. He says "the key with painting miniatures is to use contrast in order to emphasize details. The details on them can be very small-all of these but the first sword one are around 1.5 inches tall- and details like eyes can be as small as 1 millimeter. By painting recessed areas darker (shading) and exposed areas lighter (highlighting) it makes the miniature 'pop' and look very good." Thank you for sharing your work, Benjamin!

It's Throwback Thursday! Five years ago, a group of EOC students voyaged into Yellowstone National Park with some area experts to track wolves. They also learned about geology, winter, outdoor safety and the other animals of Yellowstone. We love our experiential field trips.

Check out this piece of art created by Haven! One of the highlights of her artist's statement is the story behind the image. This dog was a service dog in California and was taken away after it became illegal to own a pitbull in the part of the city where the owner resided. Haven used her art to highlight a social justice platform she feels passionate about. Thank you for sharing your work and your passion Haven!

Congratulations to Landon Dahl for graduating from the Youth in Government program!! Landon started as a Senator and worked her way up to Legislative Specialist which means she taught legislative classes and was a participant of National Issues Forum, where out of 100 proposals hers was 1 of 5 to make it to the last round. For her last year she became an appointed official and did extra training throughout the year. When Landon graduates from EOC, she will wear this cord to show her accomplishments in the program. Landon will deeply miss Youth in Government.
